grilling eats

last night we had the best meal at the house in a while. we had about a dozen st. augustine shrimp, some crimini mushroom caps, asparagus, all grilled, over durum pasta we made with the omega juicer.

the shrimp and asparagus were dowsed in the green grill sauce (adapted from rich reynolds, thanks ol' buddy..), which is a lot like a very loose pesto minus the nuts and cheese. caps just tossed with a little olive oil and salt and pepper. and i will add, grilled to perfection.

the fine durum flour we found up in wisconsin during our last vacation up there. just straight half pound recipe. and the extruding function of the omega was a a nice change from the atlas rollers. on the plate it was nearly dry, just a little more of the green grill drizzled on top. it was the best pasta we have made yet. nothing needed any more salt or pepper. it was super fine.

and the accompanying wine was arrogant frog. a nice little number from france retailing at our local kick-ass market for 5.99. i love ward's. mangoes finally down to .69 each.

after the clean-up put on the new grill cover, which right now is coming in very handy with this steady light rain courtesy of storm ida. it fits perfect. found it at tj max. THE place if you need any kitchen utensils, gadgetry or miscellany.

and thanks to my lady. or else none of it wouldda happened. WE kick-ass. great meal and thinking back, it was probably worthy of one of them wines in our cellar. ha!
